Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear to class?
If you are joining a class for the first time, wear comfortable clothes which allow you to move freely. What you would wear for exercising, yoga or dance classes (e.g. leotard, dance tights) is fine. Add a flared skirt and court shoes with a sturdy low to medium heel (no higher than 2 inches / 5 cm) or comfortable trousers and shoes or ankle boots with a boot heel.
If you are interested in shopping for flamenco shoes and dancewear, you can ask us or your fellow students for recommendations. One of our flamenco teachers at the London School of Flamenco, Mel Day, makes lovely flamenco skirts, tops and dresses. You can browse her shop JuergaWear.

How do I pay for classes?
You can pay by cash or card when you come to a class. Currently, the price is £15 per 60-minute class on a pay-as-you-go basis. We offer an “all you can dance” subscription if you sign up for a 3-month term with some great savings.
Do you offer classes for more advanced dancers?
Our classes are aimed at beginners and improvers to give students the opportunity to get ‘flamenco dance fit’.
Thanks to the support of the London School of Flamenco, we will have access to their extensive programme of workshops and intensive courses held throughout the year at their London dance studios.

What / who is Guildford Flamenco?
We are a small group of flamenco dance enthusiasts who wanted to bring flamenco classes to the local community. We plan to run Guildford Flamenco as a non-profit unincorporated association and membership will be open to everyone who attends classes with us. To find out more, ask either Jo, Lottie or Anne when you come to class.
