Join us for a relaxed Sunday afternoon teatime concert with The Oakstone Trio
We’re excited to be supporting The Hideaway and Matrix, a charity supporting young people in Guildford, with a Sunday afternoon folk concert featuring the talented Oakstone Trio. Your concert ticket will include a cream tea (2 scones, cream, jam & pot of tea - vegan / gluten-free options available - please select the dietary option for each person when you book).
The Oakstone Trio are Louis Thurman (melodeons, vocals), Mitch Keely (guitar, vocals), and Joshua Newman (fiddle, viola, vocals), They formed in 2022 for a gig at Oxford Folk Weekend after years of playing together on the Oxford folk scene.
The trio combine a nuanced, improvisatory approach to tunes with energy and warmth, allowing seldom-heard melodies to escape old manuscripts and giving well-loved session tunes the space to find new directions. They pair new compositions with old…
