Marina's Story

During the last two years of the war, I seemed to live another life...

It all started with the fact that I lost EVERYTHING because of the war. I lost my favourite job, my home, all the things connected with my past, and then hope.... The war burned my soul, I lost hope for the future, I lost faith in people, and I felt only despair.

That was  a year ago. Today, I am here in Farnham. I see the smiling and friendly eyes of the British. They support me and give me strength. Strength to live and believe - in victory, in humanity. That there is more love and goodness in this world. I am smiling. My soul has blossomed in Great Britain. It is full of joy now. I am so grateful and happy for this!
